Red Portrait Beauty Shoot with 'Climbing Roses' Percher

'Climbing Roses' is one of my favourite pieces to date, and when the fantastic, Marie Jean Taylor, got in touch to arrange a portrait shoot involving this piece, I was ecstatic! Having worked with Marie before, I was so looking forward to see how this percher suited her (along with a stunning platinum wig) and I think it's safe to say that it looked brilliant!

Collaborating with Steve Shipman of @stesphotos, I knew that this was going to be a successful shoot, and I am honestly bowled over with the photographs! Marie's portrait is composed beautifully and the detail of my hat in the photographs is fantastic. Thank you both, it has been a pleasure working with you!

I'll keep this brief and get straight to Steven's exquisite photography, which I'm sure you will enjoy! I love the way the red silk taffeta just 'pops'. Making this piece was a bit of a learning curve for me in terms of building a tall, but lightweight, structure, along with hand folding and creating dozens of roses out of strips of the same fabric. Teaching myself these various techniques was something extremely enjoyable and inspiring for my future creations!
